My Story
From small-town beginnings to global adventures behind the lens
I grew up in Gulbarga, a small town in north Karnataka, India, where my world was filled with the vibrant colours of watercolours and sketchbooks. As a child, I was constantly drawing, painting, and entering art competitions, finding joy in every stroke of the brush.
But after graduating in 2002, life had other plans. Moving to Hyderabad and later Bangalore and Hong Kong, I threw myself into my career, and my art faded into the background. Yet, deep down, the creative spark never left me. Years later, it resurfaced—this time in a different form: photography.
Photography became my new canvas. With my first camera, an entry-level Canon 550D, I taught myself everything from scratch — reading, experimenting, and failing more times than I can count. But with each click of the shutter, I discovered new ways to see the world.
In 2019, everything changed when I was named "Global Photographer of the Year" at my organization, an honour that reignited my passion. Soon after, a photo of mine was featured as National Geographic's "Photo of the Day", a milestone that gave me the confidence to share my work on a larger stage. Since then, my images have won national and international recognition, with one image even making its way to the cover of a widely published book, with 99k print copy rights.
Photography is more than a hobby — it's how I connect with the world around me. Whether it's capturing the raw emotion of a street scene or the serene beauty of wildlife, I believe every shot tells a story. I’m always eager to collaborate with like-minded creatives, brands, and organizations to tell even more powerful visual stories.
If my work resonates with you, let’s connect and create something meaningful.
